The Internationalization Commission coordinates and implements the processes of internationalizing teaching and research, in alignment with the objectives of the Department's multi-year Strategic Plan, as stipulated by art. 18 paragraph 2 letter a) of the amended University Statute, which came into effect on 15/03/2024, and in accordance with the University's multi-year Strategic Plan.
Many of the Department's Master's programs have an international focus, attracting numerous students from around the world each year for study periods or to complete their entire course at the Department's facilities. The Commission promotes international teaching through numerous formal agreements with European universities (more than 50 Erasmus agreements) and non-European universities, establishing bilateral exchange programs for faculty and students. The Internationalization Commission also selects numerous applications from foreign PhD students and young researchers who request to be hosted as visiting researchers to collaborate on research conducted at the Department's laboratories. At the beginning of each academic year, the Internationalization Commission invites prestigious visiting professors to give lectures, seminars, and workshops. These initiatives not only promote international teaching but also offer important opportunities for discussion and collaboration in research, aimed at consolidating and/or establishing international working groups.
The Commission is coordinated by the Delegate for Internationalization, Francesca Agostini
