The Scientific Committee defines the scientific development lines of the library, based on criteria aimed at ensuring adequate and balanced bibliographic coverage of the relevant disciplinary fields. It oversees the protection and enhancement of the special historical-educational collections preserved there. The committee also approves the allocation of the library's budget across different expenditure items and submits the library services regulations and resource needs for the approval of the Department Council
