Roles, Functions, and Areas of Expertise of the Department's Governing Structures
The Department of Psychology is governed by the Director, the Executive Committee, and the Council. They are responsible for the direction, coordination, and planning of all departmental activities.
Director
Oversees the implementation of the Department's research programs. The Director is elected by the Council - from among tenured and retired professors, generally from the first tier - by an absolute majority of voters in the first three ballots and by a relative majority in subsequent ones, and is appointed by Rectoral Decree.
Deputy Director
Steps in for the Director in case of absence or temporary impediment. The Deputy Director is designated by the Director immediately after taking office.
Executive Committee
The Executive Committee consists of the Director, who presides over it, the Deputy Director, the Heads of the Organizational Units at Each Site, the Administrative Manager who acts as secretary, three elected professors and researchers with equal representation among the ranks, two representatives of the technical-administrative staff, and two student representatives (the list of members is in the "attachments" section).
Department Council
The Council defines the research objectives and programs of the Department. All members of the Department, including representatives of non-teaching staff, students, and doctoral candidates, are part of the Council.
Administrative Manager

The Administrative Secretary technically prepares the budget and final accounts, as well as the asset situation. The Administrative Secretary coordinates administrative and accounting activities, sharing responsibility with the Director for the resulting actions; specifically, the Administrative Secretary directs the Department's secretariat and coordinates the activities of the assigned staff. The Administrative Secretary also collaborates with the Department Director for activities aimed at improving the Department functioning.
Head of the Organizational Unit at Each Site (OUS)

Coordinates the educational and scientific activities carried out at the location, participates in the Campus Council as a right-holding member, participates in the activities of the Department's Executive Committee, has instructor duties on external University resources, and oversees the use of resources assigned to the location.
