RESEARCH ETHICS COMMITTEE

The Ethics Committee is tasked with reviewing self-declarations from researchers regarding adherence to ethical norms in psychological research projects

The Research Ethic Committee of the Department of Psychology "Renzo Canestrari" is responsible for reviewing self-certifications from faculty and researchers at the University concerning adherence to ethical standards in psychological research projects. It provides a preliminary opinion, upon request from the interested researcher(s), on projects or procedures adopted, in compliance with the Code of Ethics for Research and Teaching in Psychology, prior to evaluation by the University's Bioethics Committee.

The committee is coordinated by the representative of the Department of Psychology on the University Bioethics Committee (CBU), Silvia Moscatelli.

Members

The Committee is chaired by the Director of the Department or her delegate.

Requesting an Opinion from the Ethics Committee

To request an opinion, it is necessary to complete the Request for Opinion Form with care, filling out the form accurately and concisely, without attaching projects (To download the form, check the attachments in the Bioethics Committee - University of Bologna).

It is important to know:

  • Requests should be sent by the 15th of each month to the email address psi.comitatoetico@unibo.it.
  • After giving its opinion, the Department of Psychology's Ethics Committee will forward requests to the Bioethics Committee for evaluation.
  • Research can only begin after receiving the opinion of the Bioethics Committee, University of Bologna.

NOTE: From 01.05.2023, only applications submitted using the new forms, available on the UniBO - Bioethics Committee website, will be accepted for evaluation.
